    What You Need To Know:

The Western Australian Government is making it easier for households to access clean energy solutions with the WA Residential Battery Scheme. Through this program, eligible households can apply for Interest-Free Loans for Solar Battery Systems of up to $10,000 to help fund battery storage and solar upgrades

How Interest-Free Loans for Solar Battery Systems Works

The scheme is administered by Plenti and designed to support more households in adopting battery technology across WA.

    • Loan Amount: $2,001 – $10,000
    • Loan Term: 3 to 10 years
    • Eligibility: Household income under $210,000
    • Covers: Battery systems, hybrid inverters, and solar panels (when bundled with a battery)

This means you can install a new battery system, replace an old one, or bundle solar panels with storage — all without paying interest.

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the interest-free loan, you’ll need to meet certain requirements:

    • Be 18+ and a permanent resident of Australia
    • Live in WA and be a Synergy or Horizon Power customer
    • Own or rent your property (with landlord approval if renting)
    • Install a new or replacement battery system with at least 5kWh usable capacity
    • Use only approved products and accredited vendors listed by Plenti
    • Connect your battery to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP)
