The government plans to offer 20,000 rebates for residential battery installations, with the amount varying based on the electricity provider:

• For Synergy Customers: A rebate of up to $5,000, calculated at $500 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for batteries with a capacity of up to 10 kWh.
• For Horizon Power Customers: Up to $7,500 available, with a rebate of $750 per kWh for the same capacity.

Additionally, there will be no-interest loans of up to $10,000 aimed at assisting lower to middle-income households in participating in this program.

How the Program Will Be Implemented

The rollout will take place in several phases, beginning on or before July 1, 2025. A qualified third-party service provider will manage the program, ensuring efficient implementation and support for applicants.

Eligibility Criteria

• Residential Properties: The program is open to residential properties in WA, including home businesses.
• Electricity Accounts: Eligible properties must have a residential account with either Synergy or Horizon Power.
